Cancellations

Need to cancel? We explain your fare’s cancellation rules, your rights under Australian Consumer Law, and your refund or credit options.

If you need to cancel, we’ll review the cancellation rules for your specific fare and tell you what you’re entitled to — a refund, a travel credit, or neither — before we cancel anything.

Good to know (Australia): There is no automatic statutory right to cancel a booked flight for a refund, and Australia has no fixed cooling-off period for flights — the airline’s fare rules apply. However, under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) you have consumer guarantees: if a flight is cancelled by the airline or there is a major failure to provide the service, you may be entitled to a refund. These rights cannot be excluded by fine print.

FAQs

Will I get my money back?
It depends on your fare and the reason. Refundable tickets return your money (minus any disclosed fee). Non-refundable tickets may still allow you to reclaim certain unused taxes or receive a travel credit. Where the airline cancels or there is a major failure, you may be entitled to a refund under the Australian Consumer Law. We confirm before cancelling.
What if the airline cancels my flight?
If the airline cancels your flight, you are generally entitled to a remedy. Under the Australian Consumer Law’s consumer guarantees, a cancellation or major service failure can give you the right to a refund rather than only a credit. The exact outcome depends on the airline and circumstances; we help you pursue it.
How long do refunds take?
Airlines set refund timelines. Card refunds are often processed within a number of weeks. We track eligible refunds and keep you updated.
